If one becomes hungry for food
one knows where to get fed
thus restoring energy lost
taking in daily bread

without the food to sustain life
man weakens and shall die
in a famished body of flesh
that’s broken down and dry
____
likewise when his spirit is dead
there is no life inside
ignorant of the life of Christ
no peace can there reside
____
but when Jesus quickens the dead
new life shall fill a void
man’s spirit is then born again
the devil’s hope destroyed
____
and great becomes the hungering
of things of God desired
this new spirit craves all His words
from mercy that’s transpired
____
for God sustains man through His word
restores the spirit man
giving life through His energy
and leads one by His hand
____
as the Holy Spirit pastors
man’s life becomes renewed
every moment one lives for God
brings joy and hope that’s true
